For Sam's birthday treat we got tickets for the IAAF Diamond League athletics at Birmingham, and headed over there for the weekend.
The first view of any sporting arena is always exciting, seeing the infield at the Alexander Stadium was no different...
The tickets were great, just above the 100m start.
These boys can run faster than a Glaswegian chasing a deep-fried MArs babr.
All goes deadly quiet just before the start. Maybe not the best time for me to yell "Kill 'em Adam" to Adam Gemili (looking at camera). Opps.
Here's Katherine Merry waiting to do a link in the broadcast.
Cue Katherine!
There is always something happening when you go to watch athletics. Even in between events the staff will be busy somewhere - here collecting hurdles.
110m hurdles start. I didn't yell this time.
The javelin athlets measure their run-up by flipping their javelin end over end away from the white foul line, most amusing!
Ohorugu leading the women's 400m, but she didn't hold on.
It's Olympic long jump champ Gregory Rutherford!
Mo Farah should have been running but pulled out with some ridiculous excuse. That's twice he's let us down now....
As much a Sam wished for it, none of the female steeple-chasers fell over into the water...
